Vegan Apple Ring Fritters

so sweet and delicious fritters using cute apple rings to celebrate fall season

Fall season and Apple !

Fall season is already begun. And there is no bad way to eat an apple, especially during the fall. The crisp fruit is never better than it is right now. Its sweet tartness pairs much very well with cinnamon. This tasty duo is perfect in just about anything ! These combination is fully shown in my another post which I have shared few days ago as ‘Vegan Apple Cupcakemuch healthy cupcakes using wheat flour and jaggery and completely egg free, all purpose flour free, refined sugar free. Do check 😊

This fruit, apple is always available in my pantry as my boy loves to have each day. Although every season, the good quality apple is not easily found, still I bring from the market. And as the perfect season for apple, Fall Season is here so anyone can get the most delicious form of this fruit. Naturally, apples have more benefits than just of their sweet, tart flavor. Especially if one eat these with the skin on, then these are a good source of fiber. Apples are obviously great in pies, crumbles. But there are much more dishes one can make and devor.

The event related to this post :

Well this time our fortnight foodie group named as Healthy Wellthy Cuisines is decided to select 75th theme : ‘Apple Time‘ and that is actually suggested by me. As the season of FALL is on full swing then how are about some dishes using apples which are the season’s fresh plucks, isn’t it ? So we finalized that and here I have come up with a dessert or even sweet snack option as Vegan Apple Ring Fritters. If you love fried onion rings, then here is a dessert version of that kind of deep fried dish using apple. How the apple rings are shaped ?

Here the rings mean ring shaped apple slices. First using an apple corer, the core from the apple is removed. Then the apple is cut into slices (not more than 1/2 inch). Apple corer is the best to use for removing the core from the apple. Still if the apple corer is not available at your place, then simply first slices the apple, then using a knife take out the core area along with seeds. The apple slices can be further cut into thin rings using any cookie cutter (round ones), but I have skipped that part and prepare fritters using the simple cored apple slices.

Preparing the fritters in details :

The fritters here are prepared simply deep frying the apple rings dipped in a batter. The batter I have kept vegan, so any kind of non-vegan milk is not used and also no vegan milk even is not added here as that type of milks somehow were finished at my pantry. Simply all purpose flour along with cinnamon powder, baking powder, powdered sugar, salt and water are mixed together to make a batter of neither thick nor thin consistency. The batter actually must be medium consistency so that the apple slices get well coated after dipping. If still the batter is too thick, do add little more water to get perfect consistency. If the batter becomes too thin then add little amount of flour to get the consistency which can be well coated by the apple slices.

Then the coated apple slices are deep fried till lightly brown from both sides. Finally some powdered sugar and cinnamon powder are sprinkled on these fritters and preferably served warm. The whole process is super simple and easy as well. Within few minutes these can be prepared and served. Also as the festive time is going on so these fritters’ll best fit for sweets option. These are surely enjoyed by any age group. As the season of fall is also on, so do try these sweet and delicious fritters.
